Soon our Government will be undertaking its next three week review and we eagerly await their announcements as to whether the state of our nation meets some or any of the criteria which might bring about a change to our current lockdown status. But it is likely that their announcement will still contain a lot of detail as to what we can’t do … and what we can’t do maybe for some of us is wearing a bit thin.
One thing we can do is pray and I ordered a little book recently called 5 Things to Pray in a Global Crisis. It is written by Rachel Jones and it’s a valuable resource. The final section encourages us to pray for kingdom growth after this pandemic. She asks “what will life look like after this pandemic? We don’t know. But we do know what we should pray for; an understanding of Jesus’ good news, a nation which has greater spiritual sight, a church which shows fresh compassion, a plentiful harvest and a generation of Christians who are recommitted and ready to undertake kingdom work. When you are tempted to be discouraged by our lack of freedom let’s celebrate the freedom with have in Jesus.
